Frequently asked questions

Ajibola Adeoye-Adeyemi is a Person-Centred Counsellor and individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She holds an MSc and PGDip in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Aberdeen. She also holds a Certificate in Counselling Skills from the University of Aberdeen. Along with an MBA and MA, she brings a breadth of lived and professional experiences into the therapeutic space coupled with warmth, authenticity and sensitivity.

Person-centred therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, is based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Rather than diagnosing or directing, your therapist offers warmth, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, creating a safe space where you can explore your feelings at your own pace.

Research consistently shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns. Many people actually find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own space. The therapeutic relationship, the most important factor in therapy outcomes, can be just as strong online as it is face to face.

Start by completing the intake form and the questionnaire on our website. This helps us understand your needs. You can proceed to book your initial session also on the website. You will then receive an onboarding email with the therapeutic agreement which must be signed and returned before the start of the first session.

After completing the intake form and questionnaire, we can schedule the initial session as soon as you are ready to start. This can be booked on our website where you can view our availability.

Sessions take place via secure video calls. The platform is designed to be simple and comfortable to use. You can also send emails between sessions which we will response to in 24 hours. However, in the case of a crisis or an emergency, please contact your doctor or emergency services where you live.

Session fees are available at the time of booking. We believe therapy should be accessible and will work with you to find an arrangement that feels manageable for you.

Payment must be made before each session through the website or other means as agreed with the therapist. All payments are non-refundable.

There is no fixed timeline. Some people find clarity in a few months; others benefit from long-term work. We regularly check in on how you are finding the process, and you are welcome to end counselling at any time, however, notice is appreciated for a proper ending.

Absolutely. Confidentiality is fundamental to the therapeutic relationship. Everything shared in sessions is held in the strictest confidence, in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. The only exceptions are situations where we mutually agree that confidentiality be extended, situations involving serious risk of harm to client or someone else or where there is a legal requirement.

If you are in immediate danger, please contact your doctor or your local emergency services as therapy is not a crisis service. You can also reach out to crisis helpline in your region. During sessions, if concerns about safety arise, your therapist will discuss appropriate support options with you.

The sessions gave me the space I needed to explore difficult emotions without judgement. I finally feel like someone truly hears me.
